Indianapolis, Indiana – (April 3, 2017) – This week, The Margot L. and Robert S. Eccles Fund, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, awarded Indy Reads Books a $25,000 grant for capital improvements. This local grant award is a fantastic investment in Indy Reads Books and the downtown community it serves.
“Indy Reads Books will celebrate five years of serving the downtown community this year. Our vision has always been to make the bookstore a space for the community. The goal for our improvements is to enhance the experience of visitors to the store,”says Indy Reads CEO, Ryan King. “This generous donation gives us the ability to improve visitor experience for years to come.”
Indy Reads Books is a unique Indianapolis bookstore, not just because it is a welcoming atmosphere for writers, artists and literary enthusiasts of all kinds. All profits from book sales serve as a revenue source for Indy Reads, a non-profit dedicated to improving the literacy of adults and families in Central Indiana.
Every book sold at Indy Reads Books funds programs for adult literacy students and English language learners, including the new Community Classrooms program that bridges the gap for students seeking placement in Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency (ABE/HSE) programs or job certifications. Through this gift from The Margot L. and Robert S. Eccles Fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation, we can continue to promote the cause of adult literacy in Indianapolis and Do Good, Read More.
